Bill Batterman is the The Brewers salvaged their series with the Giants by winning the final two games but they are still looking up at .500 at 52-54. Milwaukee is only a game-and-a-half behind the Cubs for third place in the National League Central and five-and-a-half behind the Astros in the race for the NL Wild Card.
The Mets, meanwhile, are a game on top of .500 at 53-52 but in last place in the competitive NL East. They are coming off two disappointing series in which they dropped three-of-four to the Astros and two-of-three to the Rockies and are now four games out of the Wild Card lead.
