The Brewers salvaged their series with the Giants by winning the final two games but they are still looking up at .500 at 52-54. Milwaukee is only a game-and-a-half behind the Cubs for third place in the National League Central and five-and-a-half behind the Astros in the race for the NL Wild Card.

The Mets, meanwhile, are a game on top of .500 at 53-52 but in last place in the competitive NL East. They are coming off two disappointing series in which they dropped three-of-four to the Astros and two-of-three to the Rockies and are now four games out of the Wild Card lead.

When the two teams hooked up in May the Mets won two of three at Miller Park.
