Former West Bend West High School forensics and debate coach John Steinbach passed away this week. He received the Bill Hintz Memorial Coach of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Forensics Coaches Association in 1983 and was elected to the organization’s Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a Two Diamond coach with Outstanding Distinction in the National Forensics League and was an inspiration to hundreds of students, including this author, and he will be dearly missed.
