The Brewers’ 2005 Interleague Schedule concludes this weekend at Miller Park as the Twins come to town for the second half of their six-game home-and-home series against the Crew. Milwaukee lost two of three to the Minneapolis nine at the Metrodome including a backbreaking late-inning collapse in the finale and a dominant performance by Carlos Silva in the opener.
This time the Brewers will avoid Silva (who has six wins and has allowed just five walks on the season) but will not be so fortunate when it comes to Brad Radke and Johan Santana, two of the American League’s top hurlers. The Twins enter Friday’s action at 39-31, nine and a half games behind the White Sox and one and a half back of the Red Sox in the Wild Card standings. The Brewers, meanwhile, have slumped to 33-39 and sit in fourth place in the NL Central, twelve back of the first-place Cardinals.
In addition to the events on-the-field, this weekend’s series will feature the 2005 Brewerfan.net Fan Fest. A tailgate party will precede Saturday’s game and a large group of the site’s faithful will be in attendance to see Tomo Ohka take on Santana.
