What looked to be a fantastic homestand against the lowly Rockies and Astros quickly turned sour this weekend as the Brewers lost the last two games against Houston. Still, their 4-2 record got Milwaukee back within a game of .500 and only a game behind the second place Cubs.
Now comes the hard part.
Beginning on Monday night, the Crew will play their next seven games on the road against the Padres and Dodgers, two of the National League’s best teams. San Diego is 31-19, the second best record in the league behind only St. Louis, and has been dominant at home (16-4). They enter the three-game series against the Brewers riding a four-game winning streak and will send ace Jake Peavy to the mound in game two.
