In front of a regional audience on ESPN for the first time this season, the Brewers acquitted themselves nicely on Monday in a Labor Day matinee win against the Pirates.
<p>On a clear afternoon at Pittsburgh's beautiful PNC Park, the broadcasting team of Michael Reghi and Kyle Peterson took care of the call as part of ESPN's coverage of "The Hunt For October," ironic given that the two teams in this contest are battling it out for last place in the NL Central. Reghi, a jack-of-all-trades-but-not-really-baseball play-by-play-man who currently mans the microphone for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Peterson, Milwaukee's #1 draft pick in 1997 and one of the most gifted young color men in baseball, did an admirable job of covering the back stories of both the Brewers and Pirates, highlighting the former's farm system and the duo of manager Ned Yost and GM Doug Melvin as architects of a brighter future. They were joined by Bob Uecker for an inning of the action and Mr. Baseball responded to all of the usual questions, mostly about his off-the-field experiences in TV and film.</p>
