The Brewers finally looked primed to snap out of their losing streak on Saturday. In front of a larger-than-expected crowd of 30,841 fans at Miller Park, the team exploded for five runs in the fifth inning and took a 6-2 lead into the eighth. Then Milwaukee’s bullpen collapsed and the Phillies took advantage, tallying six runs of their own en route to a devastating 8-6 win.

Manager Ned Yost, frustrated by his team’s poor play since the All-Star Break, was ejected for only the second time this season in the ninth. And then he let his team have it in a rare verbal lashing.

“This will not be tolerated,” he told to the media. “We came too far to let it go down the drain.”
