When Junior Spivey suffered a left shoulder subluxation on July 2nd in Pittsburgh, the Brewers anticipated he would miss 2-to-4 weeks. With the high-end of that estimate drawing near and Spivey still unable to swing a bat, the Brewers’ 29-year old second-baseman will likely opt for season-ending surgery.

“With two months to go, that’s the only option,” explained Spivey, who will visit Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles on Thursday and undergo surgery on Friday. “The shoulder’s not responding. I’m doing everything I can to get back out there, but I can’t even swing the bat right now.”
