Coming into this weekend’s three-game set with the Astros, the Brewers had been shutout in their last two contests in St. Louis and had dropped four consecutive games to fall back to .500. On tap were matchups between Roger Clemens and Chris Capuano, Tim Redding and Ben Hendrickson, and Pete Munro and Doug Davis. The first meeting looked to be an easy win for the Astros, the second a toss-up between two struggling right-handers, and the third a good chance for Milwaukee.
Things didn’t turn out that way, but the Brewers lost two of three and find themselves below .500 for the first time since June 6th.
