One of Doug Melvin’s most successful bargain bin acquisitions will call Milwaukee home for another two seasons. Doug Davis, the team’s #2 starter, agreed to terms with the Brewers that will buy-out his first two arbitration-eligible seasons, it was announced Tuesday.

The contract extension fulfilled a promise made to Davis by General Manager Doug Melvin in Spring Training after the left-hander unexpectedly came up one day short of arbitration.
