Over the past several weeks, I have been using Apple’s Safari Browser almost exclusively. While it still lacks the maturity of Mozilla, Camino, and even Internet Explorer, it has been an absolute pleasure to use. I admit, it took a while to get used to Safari’s many quirks and there are legitimate complaints about bugs in each of the Beta versions Apple has released. However, the development team appears responsive to the user community and each successive version has improved dramatically.

The glaring omission in current versions, and the issue that deterred me from using Safari after I downloaded the initial beta, is a lack of tabbed browsing. However, a leaked release features an early implementation of a very attractive new tabbed interface. After downloading the v62 beta, I had to get used to tabbed browsing again… and let me say, it is every bit as great as I remember! Browsing with Safari is faster, more efficient, and just plain more fun than browsing with any other program - Mozilla, my previous browser of choice, included. I can’t wait to see the public release of the new tabbed version - it has already received raved reviews from early-adopters and I’m sure there is more of the same to come.

If you’re using OS X and you haven’t tried Safari, what are you waiting for? Download it today and take it for a spin… you’ll wonder how you ever browsed without it.
